As the cost of living rises and the temperatures drop, we’re all trying to stay warm, stay well, and cut costs. In this blog, read about the local warm spaces you can access and the handy cost of living guide that will be posted through your letter box very soon.
Warm Place at Gas Green
Looking for a local place where you can keep warm this winter? Gas Green Youth and Community Centre is open from 10am-12pm on Thursdays from 24th November. You can just drop in and everyone is welcome. Come and enjoy some FREE hot drinks, toast, and soup, and collect some free warm items like hats, scarves, and gloves to keep you warm as the weather turns colder.
Donations Needed
SPTM Big Local is looking for donations of warm items to give to those who come along to our Warm Place sessions. In particular, we are looking for:
Hot water bottles
Wool socks- kids and adults
Fingerless gloves- kids and adults
Hats
Scarves

Cost of Living Winter Guide Coming Soon
SPTM staff are currently working to put together a cost of living guide to help you through this winter. It’s going to be full of details of where you can get immediate help with food and staying warm as well as other resources, details of free events that are on this Christmas, and plenty of other tips to help you through these difficult next few months. Watch out for it landing on your doormat soon!
November’s Big Social
It’s that time again! The next SPTM Big Social is on Wednesday 30th November from 4.40-6.30pm. Come and join in the fun! There’s Bingo at 5.30 and the chance to make your own clay Christmas tree decoration. Bingo is £1 per player, but refreshments and hot food are free as always.
