February Half-Term Fun in St. Peter’s and The Moors

February 15, 2022

Phew, it definitely feels like the world is waking up again after the last couple of years. As usual, February half-term is going to be a busy one. We’re loving getting our activities going again with some great local partners. Here’s what’s on next week.

What’s On Next Week
Half-Term Activities

We’ve got some great activities going on courtesy of our positive partnerships with Cheltenham
Borough Homes, Goals Beyond Grass, and Tesco. This February half-term holiday marks the start of
more community engagement than in recent years due to Covid. Long may it continue!

The Rest Garden

Spring is coming and we’re so excited that the Community Rest Garden on Tewkesbury Road will be
reopening on Thursday 3 rd March. The wonderful gardening and wildlife consultant, Jo Worthy-
Jones, from Haven 4 Wildlife will be on hand, sharing her knowledge and encouraging people to get
involved with caring for and enjoying nature.

Garden Mosaics

There’s also something else exciting to look out for at the Community Rest Garden reopening. At 11am, we’ll be unveiling some beautiful locally-created Garden Mosaics made by Vicky Hendzel-Walker’s community group ‘Mozpots’. The group meets weekly at Gas Green Youth & Community Centre. Look out for three lovely mosaics, each depicting a wildlife scene. They’ll be on display for everyone to enjoy.

Everyone’s welcome to come and join in the reopening, come along and enjoy being in nature (and the refreshments.)

Last, but not Least

You might remember that we put out a call last year for submissions for a community book that local resident and writer Michelle Robinson wanted to put together. Well the book is now all done! Reflections on a Pandemic: The Experiences of a Community is a collection of stories, poems, and art by local residents in which they reflect on their experiences of the very strange time we have all just lived through.

The book will be available to buy initially from the SPTM office at Gas Green for only £3.99. All money raised will go towards Big Local projects that benefit the local community.

We look forward to seeing some of you this February half-term, come along and get involved. Let’s make 2022 the year we enjoy being together again and making our community stronger than ever.
