Community Support

SPTM Big Local is an inclusive community project which is open to all. We are here to help facilitate positive impacts and investments in St Peter’s & The Moors area. We work tirelessly to encourage communities to come together, have a voice, influence change, and make new friends.

Our staff have many years of experience, resources, and contacts for other organisations that can help residents make a difference not only for themselves, but also for others.

During the pandemic, SPTM Big Local reached out to the community for help to support those who were shielding and vulnerable. Alongside the food project where we collected donations from local supermarkets and offered food for free to those who could make use of it, we also needed help delivering food parcels to those who were shielding.

Some amazing residents volunteered to help as well as supporting their neighbours with shopping and checking on vulnerable people who were isolating.

Over the first 12 months of the pandemic, we supported around 7000 people in households across Cheltenham though the #ReduceWaste Food Project. We continue to work with support agencies in cases where we are required to signpost any residents who may need a little more support.
