This is an example of a full bag of items collected from the #ReduceWaste food project at Gas Green Youth & Community Centre
We receive offers through FareShareGO scheme for end of date items from Tesco and Waitrose & Partners, these items are checked and sorted before being offered out for FREE to the community.
Although we do not know what or how much we will be offered we usually have a decent selection of fruit, veg and bakery goods.
Through other donation routes we can occasionally offer other non perishable items including tinned foods, pasta and toiletries.
These sessions are open to anyone, this is a project to reduce the waste of perfectly good items and if you just need a loaf of bread or a bag of items to keep you going through these difficult times, please come along. We are set up like a stall so you let us know what items you would like so we are not passing waste on.
We dont ask any personal questions, we are not means tested we just like to know how many are in the household so we can offer the right amount of food to your need.
We are COVID secure and adhere to all social distancing and Government guidelines.

Thank you to those who came to the session today, you have helped stop perfectly good food being thrown away!
