September 21, 2023
Wow, we had an absolutely jam-packed summer this year! Though the weather often didn’t play ball, we did manage to fit in lots of activities for everyone in the community. Here’s our look back at summer 2023.
HAF Sessions With Move More
We joined forces with the wonderful Move More to put on two sessions for local children. Up to 20 children attended each day and they got to try their hands at archery, football, tennis, and crafts as well as getting a lunch bag full of goodies.
Lunch and activities at the Community Rest Garden
Thirty local people of all ages worked up an appetite doing some gardening and making a bird feeder before sitting down to a well-deserved picnic lunch.
Inclusive cycling sessions with Goals Beyond Grass
We partnered with the fabulous Goals Beyond Grass to deliver three inclusive cycling sessions at the Saracens FC ground. 40-60 children and parents attended and there were a range of bikes that were adapted for children with disabilities. One of the children told us, “Can we have the bikes every week? I love them!”
Community trips
200 local people hopped on coaches with us as we ventured to the Bournemouth Air Festival, Weston Super Mare, and Symonds Yat.
Park consultation event
Along with Cheltenham Borough Council and Cheltenham Borough Homes, we held a consultation event where we asked local people for their ideas on how to improve the St Peter’s Square play park. 20 people attended and shared their idea over a pizza lunch.
A big thank you to our partners…
None of these things would have been possible without our partners, so we’d like to give the following amazing businesses and organisations a shout out:
Cheltenham Saracens FC
No Child Left Behind
Move More
Goals Beyond Grass
Lou’s Café
Cheltenham Borough Council
Cheltenham Borough Homes
School House Café
Friends of Elmfield
Look out for information coming soon about activities that are being planned for October and December!
